Objectives

We at International Joint Concerts Organizing Committee are a non-profit organization dedicated to
coordinating exchange programs for Japanese amateur musicians of all ages with international counterparts
through joint concerts

In the hope of healing and encouraging those who had suffered from the sadness caused by the September 11
terrorists' attacks a group of volunteers in 2002 organized a two-day drum concert in New York with 197
Japanese drummers. The success of the event taught us that when language could not be understood music
became the means of communication.

We now believe that it is important to promote through music mutual understanding and communication
between people of different cultural backgrounds in other parts of the globe. Our primary objective is to
give amateur musicians the opportunity to hold joint concerts so that they can enhance mutural understanding
and break through language and cultural barriers.
